how does the tinder elo score work
The Tinder Elo score, and why it is not your problem
Tinder said publicly in 2019 that it no longer uses Elo. Whatever ranks you now reacts to the same thing she does: your first photo.

Elo is a rating system built for chess. It moves your number up when a strong opponent loses to you.
Tinder used something like it years ago. It said on its own blog in 2019 that it had stopped. The word stayed anyway.
What is probably true now
No app publishes its ranking. What every app has said, in one form or another, is that recent behaviour matters more than any stored score.
That means the input is right swipes on your photos, in the last few days. Not a hidden number assigned to you once.
A ranking that responds to how often people swipe right on your first photo is not a ranking problem. It is a photo problem wearing a costume.
Why the Elo question is a trap
- 01You cannot see the number, so you cannot tell whether anything you did moved it.
- 02Every explanation of it online is a guess, including the confident ones.
- 03It gives you something to blame that is not the 6 photos, which is exactly why it is comforting.
- 04New account, delete and reinstall, swipe less: each one costs your history and changes no photo.
The 3 things that are actually being measured
- 01
How often your first photo earns a right swipe
The costEverything else follows from this, and it is decided in under 2 seconds.
The fixFind out which of your photos should be first. It is usually not the one you chose.
- 02
Whether people who see you keep going
The costIf photo 1 works and photos 2 to 6 answer nothing, she closes the profile.
The fixMake each photo answer a different question: face, body, life, people.
- 03
Whether your matches turn into conversations
The costDead matches teach the app that showing you produced nothing.
The fixFix matching first. A conversation you never had cannot be improved.
What to do instead of resetting your account
A new account starts you at nothing with the same 6 photos. You will get a short burst of attention and then the same silence.
Change the photos and the order first. If the profile is better, a reset is not needed, and if it is not, a reset buys 3 days.
What hitch does with this
hitch does not model the algorithm and does not claim to. It scores the 6 photos you are using against a fixed rubric.
You get a Verdict, a Score out of 100, and a ruling on every photo. Then the correct order, the shots you are missing, and 14 days of one step. One payment of $49.

hitch scores the photos you are using now and rules each one Keep, Fix or Cut. Then the correct order, the 4 to 6 shots you are missing, your rewritten bio and prompts, and 14 days of one step.
No subscription and no tiers. You pay before hitch looks at your profile, and all sales are final. hitch will never generate a photo of you.
One payment of $49, then you upload the profile you are using right now.
Or read the full sample teardown on the front page first. It is a whole invented profile taken apart, at the depth you get.
